    No sound from Samsung Wave mobile phone - Solution

    If you can not hear any sound from your GT-S8500, consider the following:

    • Ensure the mobile phone volume is loud enough using the external volume key.

    • Ensure that you are not blocking the mobile phone's internal antenna.



    • When you are in areas with a weak signal or reception, you may lose your connection. Move to another area and try again.

    • Also check the settings of the Sound Profiles.

    Check Sound Profiles settings:

    To check the settings of the Sound Profiles, please follow the instructions below.
    • In the Menu mode, select Settings.

    • Select Sound Profiles.

    • Select a sound profile you want to use, or customise the sound options of the profiles as you wish. Tap your active profile and make sure that the following sound options are set correctly.


    Call:
    • Alert type: Select how the device will alert you to incoming calls.
    • Ringtone: Select a ringtone to use if you set the device to alert you to incoming calls by playing a melody.
    • Alert vibration: Select a vibration type to use with the call ringtone.
    • Using the slider at the bottom, adjust the volume level for the call ringtone.


    Message and email:
    • Message alert type: Select how the device will alert you to incoming messages.
    • Message alert tone: Select a ringtone to use if you set the device to alert you to incoming messages by playing a melody.
    • Email alert type: Select how the device will alert you to incoming email messages.
    • Email alert tone: Select a ringtone to use if you set the device to alert you to incoming email messages by playing a melody.
    • Using the slider at the bottom, adjust the volume level for the message ringtone.


    System:
    • Adjust the volume level for the system sounds.


    If all your sound settings indicate that you should be hearing sound normally but you don't, contact an authorised service centre. To find the nearest service centre in your area please visit the Service Centre Locations on the Samsung UK website.
