Pen drive won't show files and folder on windows vista

i have bought the new system and i have installed the window vista on mine system and everything working on the system very smoothly and i don’t have any issue. From last one week i have issue on the external device. When i plug in the pen drive and mine system shows i have plugged in the pen drive but mine system doesn’t show the files and folder on that. I have tried lots of time to solve this issue but it doesn’t solve mine issue. Can anyone solve mine issue and so that i can solve mine issue.

I read your post; I was also a kind of problem in my pen drive. If you cannot access your data and displays it as a shortcut icon, then you can fix this problem. To solve the problem, follow the instructions listed below. First go to the options of the unit and select "Show hidden" and click OK to all three options to retrieve recent data.

First to do this you need to have the internet connection. If you have that go to the some official website and then download the AutorunExterminator, first download and save it on the desktop. When you complete the downloading now extracts the downloaded file and then makes double click on the AutorunExterminator. And after that plug in your pen drive. According to me you need to follow the following steps to solve this issue. To perform these follow the step below. go to the start and then make hit on the run program. Now under the run program type CMD on the text box of the run program and after that make hit on the OK button. Now you will get the command prompt. Now under the command prompt type the following and after that make hit on the enter after each command.

attrib -h -r -s /s /d g:\*.*

after that close the command prompt and go through your issue.

I have same issue on the mine system and i have followed following steps below here. To solve this follow the step below first makes click on the start and then make hit on the computer. Now on the windows explorer go to the tools menu and after that make hit on the folder option, now under the folder option make check mark on the Hide protected Operating System Files check box and after that hit the OK button and after that go through your issue. i also suggest you to run virus scan and so that your problem will get solved. i hope this will help you lot to solve your issue.
