to reply regarding the black screen issue:

- I had same problem with my 4S copy. The problem is NOT the software at all.
It is to simple to be related to some ''factory reset'' stuff, if you didn't mess with the phone's flash. Than it is a different story, and it is not my topic.

So, the problem with black screen is following: Some SIM-cards are just too old, and do not support ''smartphones'', especially if you have prepaid SIM card.
I had that: one prepaid SIM and one let's say ''normal''. The phone screen went black after 5-8 seconds, and I had to unlock it again and again.
Try to turn on the phone without any SIM inserted - it will work.
Then, go to settings/SIM and activate both SIM slots (that is first).
After that, go to your provider and change the SIM card, it is free, just tell them that you have old one, they will clone your old SIM to new one and recycle the old. And that's it. I have vodafone and t-mobile cards. T-mobile was a problem. I did what I described with the T-mobile SIM, now it's working OK.......
