Sprint smartphones are subjected to a data premium of $10

I thought that Sprint is in a mood to give relief to its customers by giving a break on the data premium of $10 for its 4G phones, but that did not happen now they have declared that all smartphones users regardless of their network capabilities will have to pay data premium of $10 effective from the 30th of Jan. So just want to know what do you think about this data premium stunt of Sprint service providers.

Re: Sprint smartphones are subjected to a data premium of $10

From the 30th of January all the customers of new smartphone are going be charged an additional data premium of $ 10 each month. And I have come to know that the company’s decision will reflect the increased expenses so as to offer more bandwidth on their devices with satisfactory data service. I think that this change will not have an effect on their current consumers. But the decision of Sprint service providers can be taken as a side effect of the unlimited plans that it offers.

According to the Sprint service providers the average smartphone consumer uses more data as compared to the standard phone users. But it seems that it is still competitive in the fight for wireless services, even after the extra charge. If we compare the Sprint’s unlimited everything plan with others then it still is the cheapest and sensible deal until now. For instance if we see the cost of Sprint unlimited plan is around $ 79 whereas a service provider like the T mobile has got a similar plan which costs around $ 99 for each month.

I think a service provider like the Sprint wants their consumers to know how the variety of productivity and entertainment are available with the present wireless technology. Even if we compare the Sprint service providers with the Verizon, then in Sprint the plan costs about $79 and with Verizon service provider having a similar plan costs about $119, which is far too expensive. I think the Sprint service providers are still leading in the market in terms of their cost effective plans.

You don’t have to worry so much if you have already subscribed Sprint smartphone, as it is been said that the extra data premium will not have any effect to their existing consumers.Sprint service providers says that the smartphone users are to be blamed as they indulge in 10 times more data traffic than the users of standard phones. The existing users of Sprint smartphones will not be affected until and unless they desire an upgradation or try to activate to some other smartphone.

It is really difficult to build, maintain or expand a wireless data network, and a huge amount of expenses are involved in this strategy. So keeping this in mind the Sprint service providers have preferred increasing the cost of the unlimited everything data plans, which still has the edge over its chief competitors. This is because the users of smartphone are using the wireless data to its extreme and is the main reasons of the hike in the costs.

It is believed that on an average the users of smartphone use ten times more data than the users of the usual standard phones. Smartphone users have the right to use more applications, and data capabilities, with some other functions. For instance they access to thousands of games and programs through the online market. They even have the benefit of the HTML web browsing along with the application of adobe flash which can allow a user to surf the Internet on their mobile phones.
