    Ideal resolution for ipad

I had some problem with a converted Movie File, i transformed a Movie to x264 mp4, 1240x720, as this is the resolution generally recommended for the IPad.The movie itself had a lesser resolution.Well converting functioned well , took a few hours, but later on my PC went CPU 100% once i opened the folder that had stored the mp4 in it...My doubt is: Should i rather assign resolution and something to default/automatic in place of making change in the IPad resolution? And if yes will the IPad display the movie as a minute Window or full screen?

I suggest using 640x480, h264, at slightest 1500kbps video (I use 2000kbps), and 128kbps audio. By maintaining it at 640x480 you must still be able to sync the that videos with a video iPod. If you don't have a video iPod then make use of 720x480 as this is the local resolution of dvds.Even if you don not make use of 1280x720 the video will still block up up the screen. The iPad screen is 1024x768, so simply make use of settings bigger than that if you plan to plug your iPad to an HD tv. Videos lesser than 1024x768 get extended to fill the display, but if you utilize the hq settings .

I intend to connect with an HD TV, but I am content as long as the actual DvD Quality will be showed on the IPad, no doubts about the HD TV, perhaps in a only some years i get a twice size HDTV, at least then i would have to convert any Movie again and thats a hell lot of work i just do not wish to do at all A little less worth on the HDTV is ok for me. Please post back some suggestions that fit my questions .

That appears type of slow. Are you using an older system for conversions? I am using at present a Wondershare that has multiprocessors support, and it can transfer two 22min episodes from a dvd concurrently using 640x480 (for 4:3) or 853x480 (for 16:9) h264 2000kbps in within 20mins and that's on my portable device Are you using 720x640, your current is 720x480 so you are calculating pixels in the height. You don't get improved quality when your output resolution is larger than that of input resolution; if something you're just wasting storage and potentially increasing processing runtime throughout video playback.

H264 is a fine selection, but you must always prefer a resolution the same or lower than the actual - going up doesn't make it well again. Also, the resolution you chose is probably too high anyway.Higher resolution takes longer to exchange and the disk size is in the same way bigger.Keep in mind the utmost resolution the iPad can show is 1024 x 768, so all the time prefer a resolution that will fit to one of those figures.

Make a note of that I am using 853x480 for widescreen movies which appear as if like I'm calculating pixels. It's sort of difficult to imagine about, but 720:480 for widescreen movies isn't actually 16:9 (720/480 = 1.5, not 1.777), so when I was having 720x480 I was obtaining some kind of black bars at the top and base of my output videos. At present that I assigned it to 853x480 (853/480 = 1.777) I do not get black bars in the output video. Your processing application might sort this out for itself when transferring widescreen movies, but if it doesn't make an effort using the 853x480 setting.
