In the market for tablets have failed so far to the competitors through Apple's iPad . Either it was a hake celled operation over a very short battery life, annoying internal fan or simply a non-catching design. Now vies with Samsung a big players with a separate tablet for the favor of buyers. However, knowing that in the tablet with about 10-inch display, a direct attack on Apple's iPad sense makes little screen is aware of a smaller form factor with 7-inch-elected. Samsung shall therefore focus on increased mobility. If that's way too big for iPad, which will offer Samung so with the Galaxy Tab P1000 the ideal solution. And so "on the go" - as a valued colleague likes to say - not even the text must be dragged along, donated to the Galaxy Tab Samsung also will be a full telephony functionality.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab has a SIM card slot and is suitable for making phone calls. Apple's iPad is the 3G variants of the micro-SIM slot for data used in. Only arises when the Galaxy Tab question of the actual practical benefits of the telephony function. As a pure text -replacement and only with the Galaxy on the road is the Tablet Tab. The device is not a solution for this just too big. It can be either in a shirt pocket or put into the jacket. Then comes the problem when the unit is to be used as an additional device for Smartphone, who holds a second SIM card in addition to their smartphone with the same number? Of course there is this dual-card solutions with two of the providers, only having to pay extra and again? In addition to telephone practice in operation but very uncomfortable. Since the Galaxy Tab not pocket Compatible, it stays in the jerk set or bag. Off is thus already cumbersome. And few want to constantly run around with a headset on the ear. Only it would look strange to keep the 7-inch tablet to your ear - which is, of course.

Samsung's P1000 Galaxy Tab achieved in the test with a single battery charge for Internet surfing via Wi-Fi will run for 6.5 hours. Apple iPad provides about ten hours. If a movie ends, so has the Samsung Tablet by 4:40 hours. When iPad are possible over seven hours. Decreases in the Galaxy Tab P100 battery health at 10 percent, reduced the tablet - depending on the App - automatically display brightness. In itself, this feature makes sense, but you should be deactivated. For the Galaxy dims the brightness down so far that is surfing or watching videos in normally lit rooms to recognize hardly anything reasonable. Movies in AVI, MP4 or MKV container work this problem. The audio formats supported in addition to the Galaxy Tab MP3, AAC, WAV and WMA Flac and Ogg, among other things. A complete restart of the Galaxy Tab P1000 takes about 30 seconds with little more than the iPad. The standard operating practice in the start-up from standby mode only takes less than one second.
