    Acer Aspire not booting up

Recently, my Acer (Desktop, not laptop) hasn't been booting correctly, I've tried going into Safe Mode, but it's always taking me to the System Recovery Options. I tried pressing Alt+F10 at the Acer logo once I've restarted, but it's just bringing me to the Windows Error Recovery screen, asking me either to launch startup Repair or to start Windows normally, both takes me back to the System Recovery Options.

Any ideas to how to fix it? I'd like to restore this to factory default.

Do you have the recovery cd with you? Remember to activate the following in Bios:
    - Boot from cd From Boot menu.
    - Activate the option D2D RECOVERY in the Main menu. The ( ALT+F10) when started Ok.

And then try to do a recovery and see if it works.

I don't have a recovery disk, but I've searched around Google, some people are saying there's a built in recovery system, but I can't seem to get into it.

You have to enable the Hard Disk Recovery option in Bios by hitting F2 at boot and enabling it under the Advanced tab. After it is enabled you have to restart the system and press ALT+F10. This will begin restoring from the Aspire system recovery partition. You will be prompted to type six zeros as a security step. Type 000000 to proceed. You will then see a screen to select your Operating System. Do this and hit enter and the recovery process will begin.

If you can take our the hard drive then connect it to some other computer or laptop and backup all the data from it. After that connect the hard drive again to the laptop and press "ALT" + "F10" as the machine boots up. Type 000000 in the security code and select your operating system and press "Enter." This will begin the recovery process.

Is there another way other than taking out the hard drive?

Since the laptop isnt booting to windows desktop, there is no other way you can backup the data. If it booted till the desktop you could have borrowed a external usb hard drive and transferred all the data's to it, but you will have to disassemble the laptop and then take out the hard drive, thats the only way left.

Then its even better, you have to just open the side cpu panel and remove the hard drive from the cable and connect it to some other computer. If its a Sata hard drive then you just have to connect it to the other pc that supports Sata hard drive without fiddling with the jumper connections or if it is IDE drive then make it a secondry hard drive and move the data to other computer.
