Background Changes automatically in desktop with linux operating system

Sponsored Links
I have recently started changed my operating system and I have switched to the new Linux operating system. I am working in Linux mint 10. Well after some days I have started experiencing some strange problems with the desktop background. Well the problem is that my background continuously keeps on changing and also it slows down my CPU performance. So what can be the exact problem here. If you have any idea’s then do let me know.

Re: Background Changes automatically in desktop with linux operating system

Well it seems that there is some type of application called drapes running in the background. Check whether your CPU has such application running in the background. You can possibly find it in the preference menu and from there do try adjusting it or if you cant adjust. Then the only option left with you is to disable that particular application. This will certainly help you. So check for that particular application In your computer.

Re: Background Changes automatically in desktop with linux operating system

Well reading your problem it seems that you have set cosmos as your background. What you can do is try changing it and set it to any of the static background image. Do follow these steps you will get a better knowledge
1) Right click on the desktop and select change the desktop background.
2) Scroll down the list of the background unless you find the one showing it to be cosmos.
3) If you get cosmos then select any other background which is static.
4) Select it and apply it accordingly.
So do try with the following steps you will get the desired result.

Re: Background Changes automatically in desktop with linux operating system

Hey thanks a lot for the solution. I have finally figured out what was the exact problem here. Well the problem was due to the cosmos background set and you where pretty right in finding out the problem. So I have removed that particular background and accordingly replaced it with a good background image which is static. So doing that has definitely helped me. At last the problem seems to have solved.
