How does this be relevant to Windows Update functionality? What anti-virus program or security suite is installed furthermore is your subscription present? What third-party firewalls (if any)?Has another) Norton or McAfee application yet been installed on the PC (for e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled at what time you purchase it)?

Make certain that the Numlock is off. This is a quite general incidence on laptops; particularly of you every now and then make use of an external keyboard. If the Numlock is on you will acquire numbers as a substitute of letters at what time pressing some keys. You will not observe this for the reason that when you type in a password you cannot distinguish the characters you type. Make certain Numlock as well as Capslock are off and try once more.

I believe there is further to this than a forgotten password or else the num lock being turned on. We just only just started pushing out Windows 7 Enterprise. If the user walks away from their system and the laptop hibernates or else sleeps they are not capable to login at what time the machine comes back. You have to power off the machine and after that power it back on to login once more.

I will recommend you to try log in using safe mode. Reboot the system and press F8 at startup to get the boot menu. Select safe mode as well as logon by means of the administrator account. Go to the control panel/users furthermore reset your user account password. Hope this will help you to get rid of your trouble if you need any other help please let me know.
