Yes you can now make 2 way video calling with the skype. Has finally reached something expected for years, at least for me, Skype has launched video calling for the iPhone, that is, if you have an iPhone 4 or fourth-generation iPod Touch, then you will be able to make calls video to any of your friends through Skype. Best of all, you do not need to be connected via WiFi to make or receive such calls. The downside is that if you're using an iPhone 3G, third generation iPod Touch or IPAD, still can not use this service completely, only you can receive video chats.

Finally the people of Skype added the function to make video calls in groups. This was implemented in Skype 5 Beta 1 which was launched yesterday and you can download . This new feature being tested in version 5 beta, allows a group of up to 5 people conduct a videoconference.

New features included in this version are:

    • Video conference up to 5 people
    • Improved video gallery snapshots
    • Redesign of the call interface
    • Improved performance of browser plugins on some websites
    • Reducing false positives in the browser plugin on the phone number recognition

To call a group, all members of the band must have installed this beta and it is important to know that Windows 2000 is not supported in this beta. The Mac and Linux versions are expected to be available in a couple of months. It is also important to read the notes of the development team for all the problems that this beta. Something called to the cries and finally implemented! Thanks Skype!

Free video on the iPhone . And no need to Facetime. That's what comes from today with the release Skype 3.0. The company has confirmed that the latest edition of the popular messaging service and voice over IP (VoIP) will allow users of devices Apple will see the faces with other clients on the application without having to spend a euro in their calls. And, in any data network.

And is that unlike the native Facetime, Skype 3.0 will allow iPhone users, iPad and iPod Touch network video calls 3G and Wi-Fi . Yes, you read correctly. In the entire family of Apple portable gadgets. Only the iPhone 4 will allow our partner we see the face, because it is the only one equipped with front camera, but everyone (from the iPhone 3G) allow you to receive incoming video signal. Skype 3.0 application can be downloaded now for free.

Skype 3.0 will not only compatible devices can make free video calls from 3G phones. The service can also provide video calls between mobile and PC (pre-equipped with Skype software for PC, Mac or Linux), as well as the company Asus. Thus, if you want to call a friend with an iPhone 4 you have installed Skype 3.0, and also see his face at all times, you could do it for free from your computer and in comfort.

Video calls with Skype 3.0 release a video signal from the Apple device with a resolution of 192 x 144 pixels and a rate of twelve frames per second. The signal can be sent with the camera back, the front or simply cut the broadcast. This is only possible with the iPhone 4, since the rest could only send the video signal with the rear camera, or just get video of the speaker (with the same video quality, but with a higher frame rate of fifteen images per second).

Re: Is it possible to make 2 way video calling on iPhone through Skype

Today was one of the updates released Skype for iPhone and iPod Touch that most will remember, at last you can make video calls via Skype , a great story and a real slap in the face of Apple. First, Skype is the world's largest operator, has many millions of users online every day, many more registered users, but is also the largest operator. The millions of Skype users that are installed on your computer and a webcam makes Skype the arrival of the iPhone is one of the most important things that have happened to Apple introduced video calls from the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch Camera and FaceTime. Because FaceTime is fine, but it's a beta, is only for Mac OS X and there are far many users as there are for Skype.

It's a slap to Apple because Skype has succeeded in launching before Apple a real multi-terminal application and operating system multi-operating with each other. It would be easy to say that Apple could not compete with Skype for the millions of copies that are distributed worldwide on computers, but the truth is this, when you want to make a video call and will not use applications such as FaceTime , or Tango , Skype is much easier to use and lets you make video calls via 3G, forgetting via Wi-Fi limitations, although in my testing I noticed that much depends on the signal quality that you have your carrier for video calls

The application, downloadable from the Apple online store, the App Store, works on both 3G and WiFi networks. Only the latest versions of the popular Apple phone, iPhone, 4 and the portable media player iPod touch, enjoy at present a front camera to film himself while phoning. Other devices are content to be given the video of their interlocutor. Skype says that the previous version of its iPhone application, which allows only voice calls, "is one of five free iPhone applications downloaded most in 2010, according to Apple, in a statement. Some mobile operators impose restrictions on the use of software like Skype that allow circumventing the use of their networks. They reserve this possibility for the more expensive packages.
