Dell Studio 1558 Wireless setup problem

I have a new Dell Studio 1558 in it with a Broadcom BCM4312 Wi-Fi and do not get it to run. All Wiki info on the subject I have read. With the STA driver is nothing, the panel icon is the red exclamation mark. With the b43 driver, the notebook connects to my WLAN and displays 100% of messages (can not vote). However, I can not establish an Internet connection. On the contrary, with the b43 driver the whole system is extremely unstable: almost all programs crash, mouse freezes, keyboard input will be accepted only with great delay. The system can then only go down with SYSRQ + REISUB. If I uninstall b43 everything is back to normal.

The b43 driver for Broadcom 43XX is the backports-modules supported. Maybe you only need the static discharge by

 sudo modprobe-rf staXXXXX

(Lsmod will give you information) and / or on the blacklist set. If you like the-> Administration-> hardware drivers installed as a system appears in B43 and the back ports are installed, it takes the drivers from the hardware. There before so clear.

i think that the problem is in the backports-modules as I know (still) new. For the other drivers listed there it worked, if not a more profound (Hardware/system-) problem was present. If you still have some doubts you can delete the backports again yes, you can tell the "old" re-select the Hardware drivers.if the problem is not resolved still then then post back to get the problem fixed.

I now have STA and B43 uninstalled and installed backports-modules with:

sudo apt-get install linux-restricted-modules-wireless-hardy-generic

Now absolutely no WiFi more entry in the Network Manager applet can be seen.
