    Compaq Presario V6000 not starting

I was using Compaq Presario V6000 laptop from last three years. Last night I had set the password into the BIOS for security. I then removed the password from BIOS after some time by resetting the BIOS. While starting the system, it is not starting and also can’t hear the beep noise. I want a solution for troubleshooting this problem.

If you are having the booting problem with Compaq Presario V6000 then the issue is related to the BIOS. You need to check if the BIOS is dead or alive. If the BIOS is dead then your system will not boot or start. To recover the system from dead BIOS you need to flash the BIOS so that it will become alive and the system will boot again safely.

If your BIOS is alive then there might be some other problem because of which the system might be not starting. If the laptop is not starting then in that case you need to check that the power outlet you are connected is working. Also you need to remove the A/C adapter and all the external devices which are connected to your laptop. Press the power button for some time and then reattach the A/C adapter. Turn on the laptop and it will start.

If the light on the laptop is on and still the laptop is not booting then there is the problem of RAM into your laptop. You need to check the RAM properly and then try starting the system. If possible then you can also buy the RAM from outside, insert it into laptop. Try restarting the system again and check if the issue persists again.

The system might not be starting or booting because the hard disk might be crashed. Many type of Laptop Company provide an option called as “hard disk self - test” to test the hard disk. This option will check your hard disk if it is working or not. If the hard disk is not working then you will be displayed a message.

You can also test the battery of the laptop because if the battery is not working then also the system might not start. Remove the A/C adapter and all the external devices connected to your laptop. Now remove the battery from the laptop and press the power button for some time. Reset the battery and turn on the laptop. If the laptop is still not starting then you can fix this issue by doing the battery calibration. For calibration you need to shut down the laptop. Now connect the A/C adapter and charge the battery until it is fully charged. After charging restart the laptop and enter into safe mode by pressing the F8 key. Now disconnect the A/C adapter and allow the battery to discharge so that the laptop is turned off. After discharging the battery and restarting the system process of calibration is completed.
