To set up your BlackBerry smartphone to retrieve your GMX e-mail address you have the so-called "BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) use. Please check with your mobile provider for the Blackberry. In the BIS course, you can register your YouTube account, so you get your GMX e-mail via push mail on your Blackberry. When you submit your GMX TopMail ProMail or address in the BIS automatically configure IMAP access. For free access POP3 mail accounts configured as IMAP exclusively in the tariffs and GMX ProMail TopMail available, more information in our rate comparison . Please note that, alternatively, you set up your e-mail address both on the Blackberry itself, can also make the Internet as the BIS or the network operator. To configure via the Internet, visit the website of your network provider:
  • E-Plus
  • T-Mobile
  • O2
  • Vodafone

Re: Blackberry phone with IMAP & ICAL

1. If you switch on your smartphone first time then it will show you Setup Wizard or the e-mail settings on the startup screen of your Blackberry. Maybe even in the sub-set / device. Select it to configure your phone to retrieve your YouTube account via IMAP.
Important Information: Please note that the setting up your GMX e-mail address in the BIS is achievable only if your phone has a SIM card, as well as a sufficient connection to the network.
2. It is at the present a connection to the Internet and the Web site "Blackberry Internet Service" open your provider. Read the terms and conditions of your provider. Click the trackball or Blackberry, you can press the trackball as a mouse button. Click Yes and then click Agree. For further questions about these terms and tariffs for the Blackberry service, contact your provider.
3. Scroll the trackball down and enter your full GMX email address and the password, as otherwise use this data to login to gmx.net. The necessary server settings are made automatically without having to enter the address of IMAP server manually. Move the cursor with the trackball down and click Next.
4. While your YouTube account on the smartphone is set up, shows "In Progress, please wait a moment ...". This can take up to a minute.
5. After a few seconds to a minute to get the Setup Complete screen. Confirm with Close to exit the configuration dialog.
6. Your home screen Added a new icon for your YouTube account. Select the appropriate icon to view your YouTube account. Please note that due to 20 minutes can take too technical until you first e-mail your YouTube account on your Blackberry to receive.

Re: Blackberry phone with IMAP & ICAL

The advantages of this technology are bringing with them very time-saving. Does the company an email, then these will deal also delivered on the mobile device. The e-mails in the BlackBerry use are relayed on American Server seems the majority of the users are not interested. Not even the NSA officially on their own websites requires that they conduct industrial espionage for domestic firms, while political friends spy official. In many companies the CEO was the first department have been equipped with BlackBerrys. Thus complete business management communication for the Americans would be exposed. And BlackBerry are further advance on the. But one need not be a BlackBerry server to always use all the latest emails on the mobile device to receive. The IMAP protocol itself, there are already quite long. In June 1997 the IDLE extension was then adopted and implemented. This allows the client to notify you of incoming e-mails.

For each new mail account that you set up in BIS, you get a new "letter" or inbox. The outgoing mail is the general message folder. In this general message folder you turn, you can configure which email accounts you want to have displayed there and whether you have there also appear at your SMS / MMS and / or chat transcripts want. Is everything all right at the beginning to get used to, but designed very logical.

Blackberry 9600 Bold, which comes along with a very useful calendar and an equally useful synchronization software, it made sense, now try something new. At home, available on all desks MacMinis which are fitted with iCal, the calendar software in-house by Apple. That alone would not really help once - but in turn can sync iCal with CalDAV servers - which is an easy way to put multiple computers on the same calendar. In this calendar system must now somehow my business appointments are supplied from Outlook - and at the same time, all appointments to be seen together on my Blackberry.

Re: Blackberry phone with IMAP & ICAL

Step 1 : BlackBerry Desktop Manager download and install. The Mac must then restarted!
Step 2 : The BlackBerry via USB <-> Firewire to connect to the Mac. The BlackBerry Desktop Manager is automatically launched and a connection is made. Eventually, the device must be selected: Manufacturer: RIM (Research in Motion) and the device Bold, Curve, etc. ...
Step 3 : In my case, were first software update for my BlackBerry Bold is downloaded and installed. This process took a good 30 minutes. Before the update all device data is stored as a backup on the Macbook. Data loss is therefore virtually impossible.
Step 4 : After the latest software is installed, the synchronization can be adjusted easily. Calendar, contacts, notes and tasks, as well as music can be configured separately through iTunes.
Step 5 : Click on the green sync characters and wait. When the synchronization automatically queried what data are new. Running on the BlackBerry or on the Mac. The data can be merged or overwritten by the Mac to the BlackBerry.
Step 6 : Superfluous software such as games can quite simply be the application list, de-installed.
That's it. Mac and BlackBerry are synchronized. How easy it is to the world.

Re: Blackberry phone with IMAP & ICAL

First, You have to use the Blackberry sync software to transfer all the relevant business events from Outlook to the Blackberry calendar. Then sync the Blackberry calendar - also with the help of the Blackberry sync software - in one of the Macs at home with the "family calendar" on the CalDAV server. Unfortunately, the Blackberry cannot sync directly with a CalDAV server - you could even do without this procedure and the dates would automatically with Outlook Blackberry Synchronization land on the CalDAV server. Perhaps RIM adds so the functionality at some point accordingly. To come to proposed solution, You have to perform the following steps:
  • Setting up the CalDAV server
  • Configure Apple iCal to communicate with the CalDAV Server
  • Configuration of the synchronization between Outlook and Blackberry
  • Configuration of the synchronization between iCal and Blackberry
The result is now a largely automated data exchange between business and private calendar, which is even a customizable filtering the transferred and scheduled dates.
