Hi i am having a blackberry phone and using it from last few months, the thing here is that i am not able to connect it with the system that i am using. I am using the Ubuntu 10.10 operating system.Whenever i connect the phone with the system it is not detected. I don't know what is wrong with the system why it is not detecting my phone. As i want to transfer the data from my system to the phone. Please help me to solve the issue and let me know how to sync both of them.

I thing that the phone is not compatible with the operating system that you are using. Now what you have to do is make the phone compatible with the system that you are using and for that you have to just install the pc suite on the system. What you have to do here is search for the PC suite which is compatible with the ubuntu 10.10 operating system. So in this case you have to see for the pc suite of blackberry with the .deb extension. I hope that this will definitely help you to solve the issue because once the pc suite is install on the system you can easily connect the mobile phone of yours with the system.

if you want to connect the Blackberry mobile phone with the system than you have to first install the required packages that will help you to sync the phone with the system. First of all you have to install the Martin Owens package in the software source of the system. Make sure that you will not install any untrusted packages that may harm your system. The you have to go to the package manager and install some importance files. they are nothing but the:
    • barrybackup-gui
    • opensync-plugin-barry
    • barry-util

Then you have to see whether the libopensync0 is installed on your system or not if it is installed the connect the mobile phone that you are using i hope that it will definitely work for you and you can connect the mobile phone of yours with the system and transmit the data you want .
