My macbook is unable to recognize its adapter

I am using a macbook and i is having problem in recognizing its adapter. I have tried to plug it with different cords and even i have tried different batteries, but doing all this is not making any difference to my problem. Is there anyone who is having the same problem? If you have some knowledge related with this issue, then try to help me out.

I would like to ask you one thing that have you tried to run Software Update on your macbook? If not then try to run it and try to keep your all the software up to date. If you try this out i feel that it might solve your problem as i have also solved my problem after doing this. If this is not solving your problem, then try to reply me back.

Before answering to your query i would like to know you macbook model and your SMC Version. If you know this then post it here, if not then try to go through the following steps-

First go to Applications.
Inside these go to Utilities.
It will open your System Profile.
Go to Hardware Overview window, here you will be able to see your model and SMC Version.

I have a solution for this problem. So i will recommend you to reset the SMC.

First shut down the macbook.
Then try to remove the battery.
Disconnect the adapter from your laptop.
Now try to hold the power button for approximately 5 to 6 sec.
Now again put the battery and connect the adapter.
Restart your laptop again.

I think that trying this will help you out.

Thanks for your reply. I have tried to reset the smc and after resetting my smc, now my problem is being solved out. My adapter is now recognized by the macbook. It was really a nice solution as it solved my problem, so i will once again like to give my thanks to you for your support.
