Low battery life on iPod touch after installing iOS 4

I am using the apple iPod touch from a long time and recently upgraded the phone to iOS 4 which is a latest version for the iPod touch. The problem with the installation is that the battery life of the phone has become very poor after the installation of the iOS 4. So please provide the solution to increase the battery life.
