My volume slider is deleted after updating my iPod Touch 1st Gen

I am having iPod Touch 1st Gen and it was working well without any issue. I started getting the problem, when i updated the 3.1 software in my iPod. I am not able to see the volume slider. I have connected the headphone, but there is no place to adjust the volume. I am able to see previous, next play and pause arrow. I do not understand what to do now? I am looking for a support in order to solve this problem. So please help me in fixing my issue. Thanks.

Even i had faced the same problem and was able to solve the issue, so i have a solution for this problem. Try to do the following.
    1. First try to put your Touch into DFU mode.
    2. After doing this you will require clicking on the Restore button and then selecting the 2.x ipsw file.
    3. Along with that you will require to hold the Shift key.

Try this out and give me your feedback. Hope it helps to you.

I am facing the same problem. I am using 3.0 and have not updated it to 3.1, and then to i am not able to see the volume slider. I have also not unplugged the headphones. I have tried to reboot my device multiple time, but still not able to solve the problem. I have also tried the above solution, but no effect. So can anyone suggest me the solution for this issue? After getting this problem i have upgraded it to 3.1 and even this is not helping out. Hope that you will help me.

You can go for this solution for solving your issue, as i have also solved my problem using the same solution.
    • First try to download the OS 2 ipsw file from the net.
    • Now you will require restoring your iPod back.
    • If you get an error, then try to use install new OS.
    • Then try to restore it again and i think this time it will solve your issue.

It will definitely work for you.

I have referred your post and so thanks for the support. I have tried your solution of restoring the system back and fortunately it is solving my problem. Once i restored it, now it is working fine again and is able to see the volume slider on my iPod. You really provided me a nice solution. Even other who are facing the same problem can go for this solution of restoring the system. I would once again like to thank to all for spending their precious time on sending me the reply.
