Can I use in-car adapter for macbook air charging?

I recently bought myself latest version of MacBook Pro 2010 from the Apple which comes with below specification:
    Processor:
    1.2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    2.Memory: 4GB RAM
    3.Storage: 250GB hard drive
    4.Optical Drive: DVD±RW
    5.Screen: 13 inches (1,280x800 native resolution)
    6.Graphics: Integrated Nvidia GeForce 320M (256MB shared)
    7.Weight: 4.5 pounds
8.Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
I want to know if I can use the adapter present in my car to charge my MacBook pro. So if anyone currently using and have any idea please do post it.

I don't think you can use in-car adapter to charge your Mavbook pro because it is 12 volt car socket where as the capacity of original adapter, which is used by your macbook air is higher than that of the in-car adapter. I think you can go for the external battery for your mackbook pro so that it may provide you with the back up after your original battery expires i.e finish power. This can be the one solution but you cannot go for using in-car charger to charge your macbook pro.

I wanted to know same thing if i can use in-car adapter to charge my macbook pro but somebody on apple website mentioned that it is not possible, because of the difference in the power they used to perform the charging. So the best solution for this which i have selected is to get the car charger for my macbook pro which cost not much. So i suggest you if you really need to charge your macbook air and don't want to go for the external battery in it, this can be the best solution to resolve your charging problem.

You can go for the Kensington Auto Power Inverter with USB Power Port which can be used to charge your macbook by turning car's cigarette lighter into a powerful wall outlet. It has many feartures because of which you can go for this:
    • This provides you with Safety features related to over temperature, over current and short-circuits protection.
    • It is quite solid and portable and fits suitably in your car.
    • It powers and charges most Mac or notebooks concurrently in car.
    • Renovate vehicle power outlet (e.g. car cigarette lighter) into a powerful 90 Watt wall outlet.
