Windows Phone 7 is not for Enterprises?

It seems that windows phone 7 is not suitable for enterprise usage. As Microsoft is telling to corporate IT that old mobile applications can not be used on windows 7 phone, we can not develop SQL CE, need to use some other OS which would be good for your business such as CRM Mobile, DSD, not work on new version of WM6.5. Microsoft is breaking the compatibility without offering any option for enterprise peoples. Does Microsoft is going to release windows phone 7 Enterprise Operating system or not?

Re: Windows Phone 7 is not for Enterprises?

The information given above that windows phone 7 is not for enterprises is correct and it was stated on February announcement in spain. He states that we will continue to invest in windows mobile 6.5.A version of 6.5 is branded as windows phone classic series and would be sold on cells that support 2G connections. Windows phone 7 is a consumer oriented and designed to satisfy consumer related requirements. It is not related on windows mobile. Microsoft will continue to invest and to support Windows mobile 6.5 to meet Enterprise needs. So windows mobile 6.5 is not neglected by Microsoft.

I did not think that there is going to be too much development in windows mobile 6.5 area.Look at release of silverlight for nokia but there is no recent release for current Microsoft Mobile 6.5. I also think that silverlight will not come to windows mobile 6.5. There is no future for native code and is really sad not be able to use it on next gen cells.

With windows phone 7 say goodbye to native code, multitasking and compatibility.Applications that are written for older version of windows mobile platform were installed directly and run on fundamental OS kernal. But all windows phone 7 applications are executed in one of the two microsoft runtime environments: 1) XNA for all games and 2) silverlight for all other applications. Windows mobile application will not work on windows phone 7.The likely consequence you will not be able to load existing windows mobile application written in c, c++, java and etc on windows phone 7. Some amount of existing code can can bu reused directly or with some changes in some applications.

This would be a big problem for all small companies which make use of custom applications that are available to them from the AT&T or from some other carriers these devices work as a regular work tool as well as regular phone. Does there is any option in such cases? Prices for enterprise devices are much higher as compare to phone provided with contract from carriers(AT&T).
