Macbook Air Wireless not connecting with Ethernet

I have a Macbook Air and it is been working with Mac OS X 10.6.2. The problem that I am facing is with the Wireless and ethernet connection. I am not able to connect the device with the same. Please help me out well so that I can make the desired things to be worked. Also the wireless connection was ok with the occasional drop out. Now its not able to process well. Please help me out so that I can make the connection to be established and work well as needed. Hope to get the desired solution and make the system to function accordingly.

My machine experiences terrible packet loss when connected to some Ethernet LANs seemingly without any rhyme or reason. I would typically see about 60% to 70% packet loss when pinging another host on the local network. Plugging my older PowerBook into the same network and pinging that same host resulted in 0% packet loss and plugging the two Macs directly into each other without a hub or a switch in the middle worked perfectly as well.
