SMC Firmware-Update problem on my Macbook Air

Hi,
I am having a Macbook Air and the problem which i am facing is related with the update application. The Macbook update application always tells me to update the smc-firmware, but it is not allowing me to perform the update. When i try to do it, then it gives the message such as “the application which you are trying to update is damaged ". This message i had got in the German language. What should i do know in order to get this problem solved? Does any one have some knowledge on this issue? I will be very much thankful if you will provide me the help. I would be waiting for you post so please help me out. Thanks.

You try this out and see what you get-

1. You need to quit all other application on your machine.
2. In the macbook SMC firmware update window you need to click on the restart and wait for the system to restart.
3. It will automatically update itself.
4. Once the update is completed it will restart automatically.
5. It will open a window on which you have to click on the OK button.
6. Now your SMC firmware is updated successfully.

Thanks for the solution which you provide to me. I tried doing that, but was not succeeded. I feel that it does not require the update; it is just prompting me to do that. I feel that i will require removing the update from the update manager. So can you provide me some other solution or have any other idea, that how to remove the update from the update manager? Help.

I will require knowing that what is your current SMC version? For finding this you need to do the following steps.
--Click on the Apple icon which is to the top left corner.
--Now select the option about your Mac.
--After doing that click on the More Info and then on the hardware.
--It will show you the SMC version.
You should get the update message if your firmware is up to date. Also tell me the message what you get when trying to update it.

Even i am facing the same problem as above, when i am trying to update my SMC firmware. It is not allowing to performing the update function. Why am i getting this problem? Is it related with the update or with the Mac system? I am looking to get a fix for this problem. I think that i should download other update from the internet. Should i do that or try with the same update? You please suggest some solution for this. Thanks.
