IPhone 4 and Apple Component Cables do not work

I have to sync an iPhone 4 bought used at a particular iTunes (v10.1) offered me an updated firmware (from memory, to go from to v4.1.0) followed by restoration. Since then, attempts to restore continuously, even in DFU mode, even uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, even attempting the restoration on another PC, the sequence is as follows:

Make sure your computer is authorized (under iTunes, click on "Store" then "Authorize Computer") and delete any "historic step" (in iTunes, click "Edit" then "Preferences" and in the "Devices", click the "Reset Sync History").
