Laptop Power Jack Problem or loose dc socket

Friends, my father is using Compaq V6000 laptop. I also sometimes use the same laptop for internet surfing. It is a nice laptop and we were happy with the services by it. One day my dad was working on laptop and suddenly it switched of and he loses his work in-between. After that it happens many times when I was playing game or surfing on internet. I think that the power jack of the laptop is broken but I am not very sure about it. Can you guess what may be the problem?

There are many reasons behind breaking the jack:
    • In many models, after a year or two it looses itself.or some power jack fails under the normal operation of your computer.
    • It may also be broken if it dropped from some height.
    • People, pets and vaccum cleaners all trip over laptop power cords on a daily basis.
    • As you know that the laptop is moved around a lot. After the jack is moved back and forth enough times, it comes loose.

Sometimes the Onboard fuse will blow and this may cause the problem. The fuse will be surface accumulate and very close up to the battery incurable points, white or yellowish constituent about 5mm. but do read the component data on the board. I hope this will help you in any manner. Good Luck.

The power jack has 6 solder points which are needed to ground and this provide the power to your system. I think in your case it is damages or it may be discolored and corroded over time. This problem usually occurs if someone tried to repair or replace the DC power jack and has applied too much heat when it is being solded. just check for those 6 solding pins whether it is connected properly or not..
