Inspiron 6000 Win 7 NO SOUND SigmaTel Driver

I have Inspiron 6000 and i have upgraded to windows 7 ultimate. Before upgrading i perform the compatibility and no issues found. But after upgradation no sound! I try to find upgrade to my Sigmatel audio driver but i did not got any way to do it. Is there anyway so that i can get sound. Please help. Thank you in advance.

Have you try windows update? If not then try to update windows. You can download Sigmatel STAC 9200 series audio driver 6.1 for Windows Vista. Even this will do the trick.This type of problem are mostly happen due to the driver compatibility with the system. You should always try to update your driver so that the errors get fixed with the new version. Perform this and get your sound working.

Try to download Sigmatel R99254 driver.Unpack it but don't perform the installation process. It will unpack and store the file to the following location c:\Dell\drivers\R99254, this will have a subfolder named WDM.Open device manager and select expand system devices (at bottom). Go to properties and select to update the driver. Now browse to c:\Dell\drivers\R99254\WDM. See that it will detect some new hardware and see there will be sigmatel R99254 driver.

After reading your post i installed the driver-Inspiron 6000 XP driver and updated as you have said through device manager rather then running the installer. Driver get installed successfully but still i do not have sound from both inbuilt as well as external speaker. Does any body has got any solution to solve this? Is your internal or external speaker work after performing update?Please help.
