    Dell XPS 700 & Windows 7 Pro 64

The drivers are up to date on my XPS700, the sound works properly on Vista 32bit, but anything under 64bit windows7 (with some crackling) the sound card is a Creative Lab XFI extreme music, video card MSI is a GE-Force GTX260. I tried different drivers creative, and but no results. Would somebody have it solved this problem without waiting for creative finally produce reliable drivers.

Welcome and thank you for respecting the rules precisely Have you tried the 32-bit driver in seven 64-bit. The 32-bit driver is not compatible with the 64 bit windows 7. That's the reason why you are getting that particular problem moreover i would suggest you to download and install the driver from the Manufacturer website.

Thank you for your quick response, I just try to install a driver for creative advised by windows7-32bit, my computer is silent (the stubborn bugger). Deepening a can, I perceive that Creative offers exactly the same driver (Sound Blaster X-Fi 2.18.0013) for the 2 versions of win7 (32 or 64), also for XP and Vista. Whatever the drivers installed, when I use the "SoundFont banks" of creative (GUI shaped keyboard), then I get the sound clean, but impossible to read a media sound-what it is.

First point of contact for this problem is Device Manager in the Windows Control Panel. This lists the components installed on the computer and provides information about the installed drivers. But alas, Windows recognizes neither the hardware nor the right driver. The Device Manager then spits only "unknown device" or provides the entry with a yellow question mark.

Those who only has a new sound card installed, for example, exposes the culprit immediately and can problem by installing the correct driver fix this. But if you reinstalled Windows and has a whole flood of these symbols is facing now exposed, which is many a swear word from the lips soft. Simply reinstall the drivers and get this issue fixed.
