Laptop built-in camera and microphone not working

I am using Sony vaio laptop which has built in camera and microphone,but because of virus i have to format it , it detects the web cam at the time of restarting but after a while it shows the pop-up message as "no web cam detected." also the microphone is not working. i want to know what can be the problem and the solution for the same.

the basic problem because of which it is happening can be loss of driver as you had formatted the machine it may happen that driver to support web cam and microphone would have been erased and not install properly. you need to reinstall the drivers to make it functional, drivers can be available for download on official Sony website which you can easily get it, just you have to provide the model, series and select the operating system which is running on your laptop.

as both need to have driver to run on your laptop just install proper driver for both and look if they are working properly.you can get the drivers on the company website from where you can get it.to check if microphone is working just Plug the microphone to the computer and go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, and click on Sound Recorder after that Start Recording speak into the microphone. select Stop Recording when finished and save it. try to play it if it is working sound will come.

Update the audio drivers

Go to Internet search for the driver for your laptop.
select Start, and enter device manager in the Start field.
it will open the device Manager window.
select plus sign (+), which is next to Sound, video and game controllers.
select and right click on the name of the sound hardware and click Update Driver Software.
this automatically update the audio drive of your machine.
this will surly help to solve the problem related to microphone.

To solve the problem related to the web cam not detecting you can install web cam drivers in Compatibility mode:

Search for the executable file(.exe file) which id used for the driver installation program.
Right-click the file, and then select the Properties.
Go to Package Name Properties dialog box and select Compatibility mode tab.
click on program to run on compatible mode.
select and double-click on the executable file for installation program.

make sure that you have install both the drives needed for built-in camera and microphone to work in your laptop. as you have formatted the machine you might have not done the installation properly which is leading the problem of your device not working. so ensure you install it properly with legal mother board CD which will solve both your problems.

It may be the issue with the drivers which might be not working in your laptop you need to install the drivers to ensure it work, the drivers are available on the official Sony website for the download, you have to just enter the model and series and choose the operating system you are using and download drivers which are available for your laptop. this will resolve your problem related to both.
