    Inspiron 1564 BIOS Corrupted

I have a Dell Inspiron 1564 and the system tells me that the BIOS is corrupted (the computer is unusable). Is it possible to reinstall the BIOS or is it that I am good to change the motherboard (in other words to computer)? What are the possibilities? In short I just want to know how solve this BIOS corrupted problem. I will be waiting for the related reply.

Can you be more specific please, because I doubt that the system tell you that the BIOS is damaged! Because the BIOS is the first solicits before loading the system. You can always download the latest BIOS version from Dell Inspiron 1564 and flash the BIOS before putting the motherboard in the trash. I hope this will help you to solve the problem that you are facing.

Well, actually, it's not my computer so I have no more details. Apparently the person was "appraised" the problem by a specialist and it is his conclusion: "damaged BIOS. After taking information from the manufacturer, it seems necessary to change the motherboard. But I prefer to have a more neutral opinion.

I totally agree with you just a question related to your Dell Inspiron 1564 you'll have the bios by what could be damaging. I speak from personal experience by flashing the bios you open the door, so be sure the computer is healthy because if you have a destroyer you throw your laptop. I hope this will help you to find the cause of the problem that you are facing.

    Re: Inspiron 1564 BIOS Corrupted

I have this problem on my Dell Inspiron 1564, unfortunately the method does not work: the external floppy drive will start after you press the key combination FN and ESC, the little light stays on for a couple of minutes but then nothing happens, the screen stays black forever. I put the files in the floppy ic50133.WPH, renamed BIOS.WPH, I found the Dell website (the latest BIOS for my laptop is 1.33). The procedure I used is correct? Rar folder on the Dell site there are other files in addition to ic50133.WPH, including an ic50133 (MS-DOS batch file) and a ic50133.ROM. The procedure I used is correct?

It worked great on a Dell Inspiron satellite, only thing wrong until I tried to start the procedure by inserting the cable into already' pressed fn and esc in this way on the PC and the USB floppy party, repeated three times everything worked. Is there any key combination, in short I am also searching for the same thing.

I bought the external USB floppy drive and I connected to another notebook. I downloaded the utility Crisis Recovery Disk and I run the file CRISDISK.BAT with the floppy inserted and formatted the drive. You open a black dos window and after various operations on the floppy are copied to the floppy 3 rows. BIOS.WPH file, I deleted as required and I replaced it with my BIOS file downloaded from Dell website.
