    Re: Problem/error when trying to scan

    The operating principle of a scanner is as follows:

    * The scan through the document line by line;
    * Each line is broken down into " basic issues " , correspond to pixels .
    * A sensor analyzes the color of each pixel ;
    * The color of each pixel is decomposed into three components ( red, green , blue) ;
    * Each color component is measured and represented by a value. For quantification of 8 bits , each component has a value between 0 and 255.

    Before performing the following procedure, make sure your scanner (or your multifunction device with scanning capabilities ) is connected to the computer and turned on .
    1. Place a document on the scanner or , if it includes a tray, place one or more pages in the tray. If your scanner is equipped with two options, use one of your choice.
    2. Click All programs, click Windows Fax and Scan.
    3. To use the Scan mode in the lower left pane , click Scanning.
    4. In the toolbar , click Rescan.
    5. In the dialog box on the list of Profiles Then click Documents. The default settings for scanning a document , you can use or alter automatically displayed .
    6. To see how a document will appear when scanned , click Survey. If necessary, adjust your scan settings , then view a preview of the new document . Repeat this step until you are satisfied with the results displayed in the preview.
    7. Click Scan. Once the scan is complete , Windows Fax and Scan automatically displays the document to allow you to view and manage it.

    You can crop an image before the scan by clicking on Survey in the dialog box Rescan Then, in the preview area , dragging the handles of the cutting tool to resize the image. If you scan the page contains multiple images , you can save each image in a separate file by selecting the checkbox Browse or scan images as separate files.

    • Press Mode until Scan is selected.
    • Press + to scroll through the list of computers on which you can scan .
