HP OfficeJet G85 will not scan to Word in computer

I have a laptop Compaq Presario CQ70 and an HP OfficeJet G85 ( USB connection ) . I want to know how to scan a document to word from the computer? In fact , I wanted to do from the control panel of the printer but the following message appears : " Error scanning . Scan to computer . or post doc. Press OK. I press OK and I come out of the , so on and nothing happens. Thank you for responding.
