    HP Officejet 6500 709n Scanner Issues

    I just downloaded your tool and I congratulate you for its ease and quality. However, I have a concern. When using your tool with an HP Officejet 6500 and the document feeder, the scanned files are formatted letter and not A4. I use the drivers "WIA-HP Officejet J6400" on Windows XP, network connection. The latest HP drivers were installed on the PC. What is even more strange is that the scan from the glass works well in the proper format. Thanking you in advance for your reply.

    It is indeed a bit strange that the charger does not work exactly like the glass network. As this is a prior not related to drivers, there may be an operation to perform:
    - Start freescanner
    - Click the Preferences button
    - Choose well Charger
    - Do validate
    - On the "size" if possible choose "Standard ISO A4", or "A4"
    - Do re-validate.

    First thing we must remove the cover glass and the cover of buttons; lift the control board (you can unplug the cable) and straight, lift the lid with the glass. You will find a black box with a white neon light, then unplug the cable, and carrying it to the middle of the race, the release of the belt (gently). You'll notice on the box: the lamp, a mirror and a lid, the latter should lift it's stuck with clips that are on the opposite side, one is visible, the other must remove the small circuit. When you open the lid equips you clean, if possible with a liquid sight glass, the two mirrors and glass of a small camera. This is the final repair and, therefore, everything must be clean.

    It's pretty simple, follow these steps:
    - Unplug all cables.
    - Raise the hood, loosen the 5 / 6 plate screws gray.
    - Remove the power button on the front: 1 / take a bit to skip the first plate sufficiently thin, 2 / remove the power button under the small latch in the middle and pull the block to the left, 3 / disconnect gently the doily connected below.
    - Left of the window, remove the small plastic cover and the small window below.
    - Clean the glass with a major coup for Ajax on top
    - To clean the bottom of the window: I have not been able to go completely, it was secured by the front of the printer. To avoid breaking everything so I just lifted the rear of the hood to reach the maximum window and spent a Sopalin soaked product on the entire back of the glass.

    After starting the program you must select the source (the scanner more often, but you can choose the webcam) and launch the scanning software associated with the scanner.
    For this:
    * Go to the FILE menu
    * Select IMPORT -> TWAIN32
    -> SELECT SOURCE
    -> ACQUIRE
    * associated software to scan starts (usually SCANWISE)
    Now, scanning can begin.
