A500 Satellite Speakers vs Headphones

I have recently bought and If I want to play the sound through headphone,I mean when I plug in the headphones jack in laptop, it gives sound from both speakers as well as headphone. I have searched on internet but did not help me. I have two problems.

1. It should automatically disable the speaker whenever I insert headphone to it.
2. How to get switch between headphones and speakers.

You should be very careful when you are plugging the headphones jack to the outlet. There are two and they very closest to each. You have to insert the one closest to you. I plugged in other one assuming that this is the right one and got the same problem as you told. So check that you have connected it at right place.

Usually when you plug the headphone in your laptop headphone port then it will automatically cuts off the speakers off. But in you case it is not happening so I think you are not plugging the hack properly. Just press the jack properly inside the port harder ant try to play the song.

You should check your headphone some of your friend's machine and see whether it is working properly or not. If it works there then problem may be with your laptop port or the system. And if it doesn't work there also then your laptop is fine and you should try some other headphone. Just check it out.

As you told that you that you have bought it recently and think it is still under warranty. If you are facing such problem then why are searching for the solution you can directly visit your dealer. He is going to help you. If it is not solved then ask him to change the laptop.
