How to lock up my desktop in my dorm?

    Hello,
I have just spend $1000 to upgrades between my desktop upgrades and my new netbook. I was just wondering that what will be the best way to lock up these devices while in a college dorm is.I just bought a new pc laptop security lock chain cable which is of $5.49.

I want to know that what is the safest way to lockup my desktop in my dorm?

I will suggest you to grab a cable lock and wrap it around the cm scout handle. Normally When the robbers try to jacking the laptop they don’t get time or don’t pay attention to check out the pc specs. And by this way you can protect your netbook to be stolen. This is the best way I can suggest you.

Don’t try VGA lock. It’s very easy to dismantle the VGA lock. You just have to unscrew the two thumb screw and the lock will be opened.

I think just like a bike lock which is going through handle and around your desk would work. Or you can get a crappy Dell P4 or anything else similar to that and leave it on and hide your real comp so that if they see lights on in the Dell they think it is your actual computer and don’t try to steal it

I do not want to take chance So I want to do this to protect
    For netbook Kensington lock
For my video card VGA lock.
Cable Lock through CM Scout Handle
And on my monitor I will put VGA lock.

These will be the safest way.

I never bothered about the lock. I have one lock for my laptop but it is so much hassle to lock it every time. I have started to carry it with me. If any one has time to get it from your room then he also has time to snip it from any cheap ebay lock.

I would suggest you to keep your door and window locked and you will be safe.

I will suggest you to just lock your door properly. Don’t believe on cable lock, they are just joke. Anyone can take it off. They just need a serious pair of wire cutter to cut them without any problem. That is all about making your room less desirable to a thief.

There are two steps to protect your stuffs. Step one is locking your door, Step two is not flaunting your stuff.
