unsure LiveCam VX 5000 video issues

My family just got the Microsoft LiveCam VX 5000 to Skype with.
While using Skype 4.2, their LiveCam worked fine and I was able to both see and hear them. They just installed the Skype v5.0 beta so that they could do a 3 way video call with them, me, and my brother. They can both see and hear me. However, I can only hear them. The video shows up as static. They've tried opening Skype before plugging in the webcam so that the webcam doesn't appear to be in use with another program. But nothing works.
I'm guessing it's video issue only since I could hear them on the LiveCam's built in microphone. So any tips, help?
    Thanks.

This may be because you don't have the latest version of Skype (which is version 5.0 beta). I suggest to install it on your computer and see if it works. Apart from that install the latest LiveCam as well as video driver for your video adapter from the manufacturer's website.
