    Where are iPhone backups stored

Well, I have a silly question. I have a MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard with itunes 9. You have all noticed that before a sync, itunes makes a backup of data. I was wondering, rather than restore. Than syncing, is there a way to recover the iPhone backup I am perfectly clear about the procedure for the 3.0.1 jailbreak. In advance thank you.

Re: Where are iPhone backups stored

Backups of the iPhone are hidden. Must therefore show hidden files and folders from Windows. I would suggest you to go for the steps which are mentioned below here
    1. Open My Computer.
    2. Click on Tools and select Folder Options.
    3. Click on the View tab.
    4. Then check Show hidden files and folders .
    5. Click on Apply and OK.

Your backups are on your computer. They are stored here i have listed them below according to the operating system you are using on your system.
    • On a Mac: ~ / Library / Application Support / MobileSync / Backup /
    • Windows XP: \ Documents and Settings \ (username) \ Application Data \ Apple Computer \ MobileSync \ Backup \
    • Windows Vista: \ Users \ (username) \ AppData \ Roaming \ Apple Computer \ MobileSync \ Backup \

The folder where your data is stored differs depending on the operating system of the computer. iTunes retaining only a single backup device, you must make sure that the backup folder is included in your backup routine periodic data. iTunes puts the backup files in the following locations: On a Mac: ~ / Library / Application Support / MobileSync / Backup /

Re: Where are iPhone backups stored

If you have configured your iPhone or iPod touch so that it automatically syncs with iTunes on a specific computer, iTunes will perform a backup of iPhone or iPod touch after you have connected to this computer and its synchronization with iTunes. iTunes will not auto backup of iPhone or iPod if it is not configured to synchronize with this computer.

If you are using windows Xp the backup can be located by the following procedure.
    1. Open My Computer
    2. Click Organize and Folder Options and Research
    3. Click on the View tab
    4. Then check Show hidden files and folders
    5. Validate

Within the Backup folder we find the last backup of the iPhone. Simply a copy / paste should do the trick I posted on the Safety of available icons

Re: Where are iPhone backups stored

I had the same problem So I researched for sometime and I finally learned where were the backups. As we seek in every way on the device name as displayed in iTunes, you have no chance to find. The backups are stored here:
    ~ / Library / Application Support / MobileSync / Backup ("~/" Means as usual the user's folder).
