Lenovo Thinkpad T400 external monitor troubles

I have bought HP ZR24W LCD which i wanted to connect to the my Lenovo Thinkpad T400. The thinkpad is having the max resolution of 1280x800 and the LCD monitor is having the resolution of 1920x1200. I wanted to Clone laptop screen with the LCD monitor with the maximum resolution of each device. so please let me know how to perform the same. Thanks in advance.

As per my knowledge it seems that the system of your is using the Intel integrated GPU. And with this board it is not possible to integrate the resolution that you are looking for. You have to use the Intel Display Tray which will enable you to make the resolution for both the monitor. So try the Intel Display tray and fix your issue.

The resolution setting that you wanted to make is almost impossible as the LCD monitor is using the maximum resolution of 1920x1200 and the laptop of yous is having the 1280x800 resolution. So you can make the resolution upto the 1280x800 only with the LCD monitor but not more then the 1280x800 which is dependent on your Laptop.

I have also gone through all the detail that you have posted here and search a lot to help you with the some of the method but let me tell you that this is impossible to make the setting with the device of your which you are using. All you have to do is to upgrade the system with new one which is having the resolution support for the same.

I know i am little late for the replies as i was having some computer issue which i was solving. I have gone through all the detail and perform the same as soon as possible. Also i will update the the post with the working solution of my problem. Any ways thanks for all the help that is given regarding the issue of mine.
