I have not tried in the way you are doing it, but once the connection with XP, terminals and three external monitors with ThinkPad T43 notebook. When the Vista boot failure then connected to external screen or less may be worth a try; set the BIOS to start in the internal screen, leaving the 34-screen close, see if you can and then by directing to Vista if it gradually add / configuration, and a much larger screen. When Vista has got used to the screen, you can try to change BIOS settings. |

I cannot install the graphics card driver, because the laptop will not boot to Windows. If you try to run the driver installation and notebook computer terminal outside the CD, then install fails because it says it cannot find drivers for hardware. I also tried to download the Nvidia driver from LaptopVideo2Go. I had the NVIDIA Quadro NVS 440 for the Vista 32 drivers manually installed. Attempt to start the notebook computer terminal, and continue to fail. This is not a driver, I can tell. The boot sequence does not meet point where the driver is loaded. Some sort of conflict areas and card terminals do not like each other, unable to boot into Windows. May be the BIOS problem? I'm not sure. I doubt the BIOS, because Microsoft is the right of the screen displays the progress bar. Therefore, it seems to make the last stage of the computer's BIOS, and try to load the operating system. |

Well my case is also similar, if I start the laptop outside the Port, and then put it in the terminal the system starts to heat; I can enter the device manager and view the Device Manager in the NVIDIA Quadro NVS 440. This will have the yellow icon indicates that the driver needs to be updated. If I update the driver, then reboot the system then it does not starts, because it is in the Dock. Unable to boot into Windows, regardless of whether there has been PCI - E graphics cards have been set in the BIOS. |

It is clear that the problem is with the multiple monitors and Vista. Specifically, you cannot run multiple graphics cards, unless they all use the same driver. This means that the card must be the same manufacturer's default. I am wishing to downgrade to Windows XP if I think it will make a difference. However, I have ThinkPad T61 with other users who have XP, there is also a senior docking station does not allow the exact same with a PCI - e cards laptop switched issue. Therefore, it seems Vista itself is not the culprit. |

This is not the only problem with the advanced dock and PCI - E graphics cards it does not boot in some specific situation; it has nothing to do with Vista or window XP. Lenovo has not yet revealed the perfect card for this card and, if so, they know that the senior docking station. I have doubts that they are not having cards that, actually works. I question whether Lenovo's senior docking and the actual test and PCI - E graphics cards to test the compatibility of T61. It sounds crazy, I know, but when they cannot answer a simple question then there is nothing left for this. |

If you have Nvidia's graphics T61, then you can just run two external displays with a small dock. All you need is a DVI and VGA outputs on the back. The interior graphics card can run two monitors without any problem. In fact, I running 2 my senior dock display you just need to have a PCI - E slot card. This is the only thing I can suggest. |

| Re: Advanced Dock and PCI-e graphics card with Lenovo T61
Lenovo's X1300 video card is supposed to be supported by the Advanced dock. The problem I have (very similar) is that after installing the card in the dock, Windows XP on my T61 freezes when loading (Scrolling progress bar stops) and the system will sit there forever doing nothing. various people on forums say to update the bios, chipset and power management, these people are wrong. if I dock the laptop after its booted by battery power it will install the new video card drivers but still fail to give me any output on external monitor, on checking device manager I find a yellow (!) on the video card telling me it cannot find enough free resources to enable the device. I find this difficult to believe, as the only other device it is running is its own dvd-rom drive. Is it possible Lenovo have just invented this dock to cost people time and money? ![]() |

It looks like that your laptop does not support the hardware. Due to which you are facing this issue. I had a laptop of similar configuration where after adding the hardware my operating system freezes. I don't think so updating BIOS will give you a help here. Just try to add the hardware in a different pc and check weather it is working or not. |
