Nokia 5230 Vs Samsung S5230

Hello Guys,

I have to buy new mobile which integrated with advanced features. My colleagues suggested me to buy either Nokia 5230 and Samsung S5230. Both these mobile comprises the similar functionality. Because of that I am not able to decide which is the best mobile between these two mobiles. According to you which mobile should I buy between Nokia 5230 and Samsung S5230. I would really appreciate your any help.

Hello to all:

I have no idea how to post a new theard so I hope somone can respond to this

I am in the U.S. and just got the 5230 - how do I set this up to browse the web? I am using ATT wireless and have data services, which worked on my previous phone (which is lost)

Also - after I stup the browser, will I be ablke to then to setup my email? that didn't work either (I am using a POP server, Earthlink)

Have you tried to contact the service provider weather your net is working or not. In my case I send a sms which contains code for activating my internet settings and they inreturn sends me the mail settings. After saving that my internet start working. You phone internet is not configured properly due to which you are facing issue.

thanks for the inputs - yes, my data service with ATT is active; I spoke with ATT for an hour and they tried to help-the phone asks for many settings not normally asked for in the US market -

Password
Protocall: HTTP or WAP
Proxy Address

this is just for browsing - NOT email - for email, have the correct POP settings

then they switched me to Samsung directy where I was politely told they do not support this phone in the US - there is no reason at all why this phone cannot work here on ATT.

For any of you reading his, I bought this on ebay from a reputable seller - who said the phone works on ATT, T-Mobile, etc.

Beware - the voice portion may work but this is the second time this year I purchased a phone for data services and it would not work.......the prices are attractive enough on ebay but who needs all this aggravation

Which browser you are using on your phone? For setting up POP you need to set one or both devices to leave the mail on the server, so that it's still there for the other device to read. If you don't know what order the devices will read the mail then set that on both. The mail will build up on the server, so you need to delete it every so often using webmail or something.

In ThunderBird the setting is in:
Account settings > Server settings
check 'leave messages on server' and uncheck both sub-options
