Phone unlock code for sony ericsson k850i

I purchased a new Sony Ericson K85Oi for Christmas from T-mobile. It has a dual sim slot. One came with T-Mobile sim and the other one is empty. I am trying to insert my second SIM card in the new phone. After that when I turned on my phone it showed me Insert correct sim card. I tried my dads sim also but still it is giving me the same kind of error. I am looking for help here. I want to use secondary sim on the same but it is not working.

Well it is not easy to unlock that on your own. You have to take the phone to any phone repair shop who will unlock it and will give that to you. There is very less charge you have to pay. There are some online site which promise to give you code on the basis of imei number. But I am not really sure about that how it really works. I had done this for Verizon once and still the phone is working fine. This kind of device are network locked.

The best thing you can do is contact the service provider itself to give you a unlock code. They do that. But some have restriction. That means if your phone is not than a year old then you cannot unlock them. And also if you try to do this on a new phone then you are going to loose your device warranty. I would recommend you to contact the telecom provider first. And see what solution they offer you.

Take out the SIM card. make your phone ON
PUSH the left arrow ONE TIME
PUSH the * key TWO TIMES
PUSH the left arrow ONE TIME
The message "Personalize with MNC2" will emerge
You may now go through the Unlocking Code we sent to you.
