Ford Edge Microsoft Sync with Verizon Palm Treo 700 wx

Recently purchased a brand new Ford Edge along with Microsoft Sync function. Have tried to couple my Treo 700wx with the system but it doesn't recognize it as a phone just a blue tooth device without the potential for streaming audio. Anyone ever achieved this pairing this cell phone model from the verizon with the ford edge's sync system.

As far as I know it should recognize the device so that it can be used with the phone utility as well as media resources and permit you to control it from the cars voice system and on board controls. Because whenever you pair it, it is recognizing the device but only gives you the ability for streaming the audio. Were you able to stream the audio from your device. Possibly the WX is not compatible with the Edge software.

What happens is that the phone is not recognized by ActiveSync, follow these handling problems for activesync for vista and xp (Vista course is WDMC 6.1), now it can solve some problem of synchronization, plug your PC HTC to wait until the sync is happening and if there is error, let your HTC connect and go to start> setting> connection> usb to pc and uncheck the advanced functionality and it should get better

Try the following to get rid of this problem.

    • If necessary remove the existing profile under ActiveSync and Bluetooth pairing at the PC side and smartphone. (I mean those who are from your previous unsuccessful attempts).
    • Disable Bluetooth and ActiveSync close smartphone side.
    • Connect your smartphone to the PC with the USB cable. ActiveSync will start automatically.

I would suggest you to perform the following for getting your devuice synced with your Ford Edge Microsoft Sync

    - Set the parameters of sync ActiveSync on the PC and let the first sync is done.

    - Close ActiveSync Smarthone side (press X) and disconnect the USB cable

    - Launch ActiveSync Smartphone side and click on Menu -> Connect via Bluetooth. A message tells you that there is no partnership and offers to create one.

    - Click Yes to create a new partnership.

    - The Bluetooth settings are displayed. On the second tab check both boxes to enable Bluetooth and make it visible and then go on the first tab and add a new bluetooth device. The PC should then be detected.

Follow the instructions for creating authentication partnership Bluetooth (He had asked you to enter a code that will be exchanged with the PC) and validate the various messages on the PC (as tooltips) and check the box that allows continuous smartphone to connect to Bluetooth PC.

    1. Click OK in the upper right corner to confirm and exit the config back to ActiveSync and Bluetooth.
    2. Click on Menu -> Connect via Bluetooth. A sync should occur. At the end of the sync click Menu -> Disconnect.

Many functions but is that really suited. Sony W995 or even an iPhone offers simple access functions more suited to daily use ... Note also for those who go abroad because the phone connects to wap only if we do not manip before! the way, if you're not careful you end up with bill inconsiderate! In short, I regret this purchase for personal use but remains favorable for its functionality and keyboard.
