Your access point may be set incorrectly or your mobile device is perhaps outside network coverage. An access point is a means through which your mobile device connects to the Internet. You can change the access point that Nokia uses in the Messaging menu Settings. Ensure that your device has network coverage and that your access points are properly defined. If necessary, you can download new access points from Settings (Folder Tools) Of your device.

If you receive this error message, log into your account on the website email.nokia.com Selected Edit settings on the account that receives the error, select Modify server settings and delete information in Outgoing mail server and Outgoing Server Port. Clear the checkbox Require SSL for outgoing mail serverThen select Register. Your e-mail will be sent via the Nokia Messaging Server, which should solve the problem.

If your account is active and if you no longer receive e-mails on your mobile device, check the following:
    * You may have changed the password of your e-mail from your service provider e-mail. If so, you must update the Nokia Messaging settings for this e-mail with your new password. The e-mails are then forwarded to your device.
    * The server for your e-mail is down. For more information, contact your service provider e-mail.

Windows Live Hotmail requires the latest software from Nokia Messaging. You may be using an older version of the software. With your device browser, go to website email.nokia.com and download the software from there. Once the new version installed, the software automatically launches Messaging Nokia. Click Sync to begin receiving your Windows Live Hotmail.

Depending on model and firmware version of your Nokia device, Nokia Messaging can be preloaded. If you are in a country where Nokia Messaging is available, but not preloaded, the application of e-mail configuration of your device configure your e-mail in Messaging Nokia. You can also sign up on Nokia Messaging email.nokia.com.
