iPod Touch is stuck on the Apple logo

Hey guys, am in need of some urgent help from you all guys. Am having an 2nd generation iPod Touch which is not almost a year old. Everything was working fine till yesterday when i switched it off coz of low battery. After charging it when i tried to turn on the iPod, it is just stuck at the Apple Logo. I tried to switch off and on many times but no response. Please help.

Did you tried to reset the iPod ? If not than try it. Resetting can fix this, if successful. To do so, hold down Home button and switch On/Off button simultaneously for about 10 to 15 seconds. The device must reboot , if not than try to reset it connecting with PC.

Leave it until it is completely discharged, then replug, maybe it can work. I have not tested it on iPod Touch but i guess it will work. Alternatively, my advice is to restore it and avoid to install as many applications at once.

Also i guess there might be problem in Restoring the device in this situation. If it is so, than follow this instruction from apple "If you have any difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching another part of the click wheel. Also make sure you press the Menu button toward the outside and not near the center of the click wheel."

Thanks for the great info mates. I am not able to reset my iPod, neither by the Home button or by PC. I have also tried the Apple's instruction mentioned by O'Brian, but still no response.

What else can i do ? Please help.

Try to put it in DFU mode and than reset the device. If you use Windows XP and have recently installed a service pack, check the device manager.

Click on the Start menu, click Run. Type "devmgmt.msc" and click OK.
