Toshiba P205D-S8804 laptop does not work properly

I have recently bought a Toshiba P205D-S8804 laptop which is installed with Windows vista operating system. The laptop worked fine for few days but now the laptop started giving many problems. Sometimes the laptop does not start when the power button is pressed. Also the performance of the laptop has become very slow. So if anybody here can explain me why my Toshiba P205D-S8804 laptop does not work properly then it would be really very helpful. Any help is highly appreciated.

Most of the laptops face the problem with the residual charge storage. The residual charge gets stored near the RAM chips of the laptop. If the residual charge reaches the threshold level then the system will not be able to access the RAM chips which will result in system not booting up. To bring the system back to working state, you will have to clear the residual charge from the laptop. Shut down the laptop and remove the battery. Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds. Release the button and replace the battery.

There is a battery located on the motherboard of the laptop. This battery is responsible for saving all the information which is required for booting. Hence open the laptop and remove the battery from the motherboard. Check the voltage across the battery by using a Digital multimeter. The voltage of the battery should be between 2.5 to 3 volts. If the voltage of the battery is less than 2.5 volts, you will have to replace the battery. Once the battery is replaced, you will not face the same problem again.

There must be lot of processes running on the laptop at the same time. For every application or process to be executed, some memory and cpu usage has to be allocated. Therefore if there are more processes running on the laptop together, the CPU will take some time to execute the process and hence the performance of the laptop will slow down. Open the Task manager and check all the processes which are running on the laptop. Terminate all the processes which are taking up lot of memory and cpu usage and which are unwanted. After terminating unwanted process, see if the performance of the laptop improves or not.

I suspect that the system which you are using is infected with some kind of virus which is creating such problems while normal working of laptop. Virus's are malicious programs which tend to hamper the normal working of the laptop. Virus's also have the tendency to get linked with the files of the applications which are used frequently. If such a situation occurs then the system will give some problems while working. Hence scan the system with an updated antivirus and check all the files which are infected. Repair all the files which are infected and then check the performance of the laptop.

RAM of the system can get dislocated from their respective slots. If such a situation occurs then the system will not be able to access the RAM chips. If the system is not able to access the RAM chips then the system will not start. Therefore open the laptop and remove the RAM chips from its respective slots. Clean the connecting terminal of the RAM chips and then replace the RAM in their respective slots.

All the functions which are performed by the computer are controlled by the motherboard of the system. If the motherboard of the system is not working properly then the laptop will give problems which are similar to the ones which you are facing. Hence it is better that you take the laptop to the nearest service center and get the motherboard of the laptop checked. If the motherboard is faulty then get it replaced and check if the laptop is working properly or not.
