No Edge or 3G on backflip

Hi,
I have a Motorola Backflip phone with me. I am not able to see a 3G connection on the phone. When try to browse any page the 3G indicator does not comes on the screen. I had noticed the same on my friends pc which is working. He has a similar Motorola model. I am able to understand why the 3G support is not working on the phone.

First of all just checkout that the place where you are located comes in the 3G coverage area. Do you have a wi-fi connection at your place. If yes then jut try to do a original sync by connecting to the wi-fi network. First of all set the phone properly for wi-fi connection and then go for a sync. You can then see the 3G indication showing the signal strength on your screen.

I am too having similar issue. I have a Motorola Backflip mobile which has a cell tower some distance away where I stay. This means that I must get a good network on the phone. But there is no 3G signal coming on the phone. I had checked out many settings and even tried a wifi connection. I get some indication for while on the wi-fi and then it disappears.

Just check your profile settings. Does your phone is set on airplane mode. If yes the change that and look for the network signal indicator. Also go in settings and under the network connection option see that each settings are setup properly. Or else you can contact your service provider for this. On the customer care support you can figure out the current status.

Try to reset your phone to factory settings. I think your 3G settings is not proper due to which you are not able to access 3G services. That can be done under settings. You phone will reboot and your first settings which you get with phone will be enabled. But this will wipe your contacts and messages so don't forget to have a backup of your phone before resetting.

For accessing the 3G service it is necessary that you must have proper access to the service by your service provider. Many time due to some reasons the services are deactivated and can work again by contacting them. But even if you are not able to get the 3G on Wi-Fi then you need to run a software update for your phone. Resetting sometime fixes the issue.

other thing have you tried in other phone.

Change the network mode to "umts"
