Nokia E72: Does Google Sync Work ?

Hello friends,
I have recently bought a cool new Nokia E72 mobile phone. I want to synchronize google calendar entries with it. They said me that you have to use Mail For Exchange version 2.09 to setup Google Sync. When I tried this using mail for exchange, my mobile freeze. Anyone has tried Google Sync with nokia E72. Can anyone tell me does Google Sync Work with Nokia E72?

Hey I am also using it and I am also able to perfectly synchronizing it. I use Mfe to synchronize my calender. I also use it to synchronize my contacts. Just make sure that you have backup of your mobile phone. Before synchronizing take backup of your mobile phone. Also take backup of Gmail contacts. After this you can synchronize your mobile phone.

To configure the Mail for Exchange application for Google Sync, follow these steps:

1. Open the MfE folder on your phone and start the Mail for Exchange application.
2. Select Yes when prompted to create a new Sync profile.


3. Configure the profile with the following settings:
* Connection
* Exchange Server: m.google.com
* Secure Connection: Yes
* Access Point: your carrier's Internet access point
* Sync while roaming: your preferred setting
* Use default port: Yes


* Credentials
* Username: Your full Google email address, e.g. jon@gmail.com
* Password: Your Google Account password
* Domain: leave empty
* Sync schedule
* Decide when you want synchronization to happen. Leaving this Always On will ensure your data is always current, but will also consume more battery than other settings.

* Synchronize Calendar: Enable or disable

To enable Google Sync for your domain, follow these steps:

1. In the Service settings section of your Dashboard, click the Mobile link.
2. Select the checkbox next to Enable Google Sync or Restrict Google Sync.
3. Click Save changes.

To use Google Sync with your Nokia phone, you need to install Mail for Exchange, a free software application from Nokia.To check which version is installed on your phone, open the App.mgr. application, typically located in the Tools folder. Hey there is no need to use it for synchronizing Google Mail on the E72. This is built into the Nokia Messaging service. You have to just add gmail account into the Mail application. After this it will allow you to add it to your Nokia Messaging account and the synchronizing is set up for you.
