By looking at the problem I think the operating system of the computer is corrupt and hence the system is shutting down randomly. Operating system of the computer is responsible for taking all the logical decisions of the computer. Also there are lot of files which are associated to the operating system. Therefore if any of the files associated to the operating system is missing or corrupt on the system then the operating system will not work properly. If you have the installation disk of the operating system which you are using then insert in the driver and boot the system from the disk. Select the Repair Windows installation option and let the procedure complete. After the repairing of the installation, check if you are facing same problems or not.

There is a battery situated on the motherboard of the laptop which is responsible for saving all the settings which are required for booting of the laptop. Open the laptop and locate the battery on the motherboard. Remove the battery and check the voltage across the battery. The voltage of the battery should be between 2.5 to 3 volts. If the voltage of the battery is less than 2.5 volts then you will have to replace the battery of motherboard. Once the battery of the motherboard is replaced, you will not face the same problem.

Mostly all the laptops face the problem with residual charge. Residual charge gets stored near the RAM chips. If the voltage of the residual charge reaches the threshold level then the system will not be able to access the system memory. If the laptop is not able to access the system memory then it will not boot therefore you will have to clear the residual charge from the laptop. To clear the residual charge, shut down the laptop and disconnect it from the AC source. Remove the battery of the laptop and press the power button. Keep the power button pressed for about 30 seconds and then replace the battery again. Now see if the laptop is working properly.

The motherboard of the computer controls all the functions which are performed by the computer. It is responsible for providing correct voltage levels to all the devices which are connected to it. Therefore if the motherboard itself is faulty then the system will not work properly. Hence I would suggest you to take the laptop to the authorized service center and get the motherboard of the laptop checked. If there are any faults in the motherboard then get it replaced. After replacing the motherboard, see if the laptop is working properly.
