Re: USB Driver issue with CompUSA Hard Drive Enclosure

As per my knowledge i think that this problem can be solved with the help of the disabling the Gateway Big Fix program. This is the program will not be removed easily and also create the problem when the other application are trying to install. So first disable it from the start up. Just open the msconfig and go to the Startup tab and uncheck the BigFix. Will allow you to install the same.

If the problem is with the USB driver then it is better to check for the USB port that it is working or not. To check that connect the USB to another port and check whether it detect the same or not. Some time the USB Port got corrupted due to malware or spyware attack. Also run the complete hard disk scan. Hope this will resolve the issue.

Does your enclosure support the hard drive or having support for how much size of hard disk. As i am having the Seagate which supports only 120gb and above that can not be supported. So if you are having the same problem then check for the enclosure and try again to work with the same and find the compatible one.

I was having the same problem with my enclosure that did not got detected in the computer of mine. I have tried lots of thing to work with the same but got no result. Finally i have read the manual and realize that i was putting the master cable wrongly. I moved the jumper to CS and it worked. So try the same hope fully it will work for you.

Have you checked the USB Power which might be going down and that is why not been detected. So for that just check the whether power is going down or not. For that check the properties of the hub/controller and that will let you know about the power is going down or not. .
