| Specification of Different Digital Camcorder
I need some information on the different specifications provided by different camcorders. Like the type of media used by them. The other thing I want to know is the various media support provided by the same. Also what are the connection compatibility of the same. There are today various types of connections like Firewire, USB, etc. What is the most common and widely used. After determining everything I want to get a better cam. |

There are several types of support for digital video. You can select any of them as per your use. The first one is Mini-DV tape. This support standard consumer video. Then comes the Digital-8 tape (Sony) a hybrid medium developed by Sony, which records the same information as MiniDV tapes (DV format compatible) but on a medium compatible with the Hi8 tapes (standard analogue). |

Cassettes are still smaller than the MiniDV camcorders that allows even smaller, but totally incompatible with the standard DV. In fact the videos are recorded in MPEG-2 format (SVCD and DVD). The Micro-MV is brand new and there is no software for Mac can mount with this codec. Moreover, the MPEG-2 if it has the advantage of high compression for good quality, not a format suitable for video editing. This is a broadcast format. Mounting films MPEG-2 can degrade rapidly as the quality, to avoid therefore the assembly. |

The connection compatibility depends on your needs carefully studying the proposed connection. All features standard DV-Out that supports FireWire or iLink or IEEE 1394, is the same thing that lets you export videos Station assembly (iMac, iBook, PowerMac, PowerBook, or even a PC with d an IEEE 1394 OHCI. A microphone jack is useful to record sound good (the internal microphones are too close to the mechanical and produce significant background noise, even on the model tri-CCD), with possibly a level adjustment of registration. |

A headphone jack is very useful to validate that the sound you record is correct or to stream live video. In this case a volume control, listening can be helpful. A socket for a flash or video light will prove useful if you intend to use this kind of accessory (particularly useful indoors). An analog input can be useful if you want to get analog video (from a VCR, a tuner or an old camcorder). These entries are often models of Digital-8 Sony camcorders and some high-end. |

You can also acquire an additional external box to type of operation. Be careful though, because DV camcorders are all the PAL standard, while our TV programs and videotapes of trade are the SECAM standard. Besides the number of CCD (mono or tri-CCD) is above all other parameters influt quality images obtained. The sensitivity (minimum light for a correct image) is very important. |
