IPod Nano is detected as a Camera on my system

I am using a windows 7 system. I have an Apple Ipod Mini whenever i connect the ipod with ,it system is it always detected as a camera. After some time the iTunes application will start running on its own. This was not the case with the windows XP. The windows XP will not detect the ipod anyway please help me to get my ipod detected correctly on my windows 7.

Hello friend i am facing the similar problem with my Ipod mini and hence i would like to know the solution to this problem. i cannot even charge the ipod mini by connecting it with the system. It is also not recognized by the itunes it self so i would be thankful to you if you provide a solution to solve this problem.

Apparently a large number of people are having this issue so i would suggest you all to do the following steps in order to get rid of this problem

* Visit apple's official website
* Go to iPod + iTunes.
* Try to update the version of the iTunes on your system.
* Plug the ipod again.

This should definitely solve your issue.

Thanks for replying but it appears as the steps which you have suggested above is not able to solve the problem. I visited the apple website and the tried updating the version of my iTunes program it took for a while to get updated. But even after the upgradation the system can not detect the iPod. Any new ideas.

There is an issue with the driver so try to update the driver of the ipod follow the steps mentioned below

1. Open device manager and Right click on the "ipod-camera".
2. Now select Update Driver
3. Click Search for the best driver in these locations and uncheck the check box "search removable medias " then click next.
The ipod will be detected correcly as soon as the driver is installed.

This must be due to a virus that may have corrupted the drivers associated with the Ipod so it would be beneficial if you remove the virus from your antivirus program and then try to update the driver on your system. This updation of the driver will definitely help you to get your ipod detected on your system.
