Card locked error on Canon camera

Hi,
I have an issue with my cannon camera. I just came from holidays and took over 500 photos on my "Canon IXUS 960". When i connected it to my pc to see all my pictures but i got an error message saying that "card locked" and also saying "memory card error". I am using 2GB SanDisk SD card, first i used it in my "Canon IXUS 750" and then in the current one. I tried all the recovery software but was not able to recover all my pictures. I also get a message stating that card is not visible when i place it in the card reader. Can anyone help me to recover my photos, i don't want to lose my memories. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, I know the solution for your issue, If there are any other people who are facing this kind of problem then here is the ultimate solution. If you see that there is a button in every md cards, if you remove out the memory card you can see a button on the side, you need to do is just slide it over, and then insert it back into the camera and it should solve the problem. The chips or the micro sd cards they have a little button on the side, it is used to lock your memory card avoiding the problem of deletion, you can slide over and the card would be locked, i think you might have accidently slide it over.

I think you shoul try to upgrade your cameras firmware or the driver. It can be done by going to the official site of the canon where you can get the whole information about the latest firmware which can help you to recover your data's from the memory card. I was also facing same kind of problem but was able to solve the problem by upgrading the software through the official site and which helped me to use my card without any kind of error. As lambard suggested you to use recovery tool to get your formatted files back. From my point of view you need to re-format your memory card and can recover your files by using recovery tool. It is useful as i have tried, you just fromat the card, the whole data is not clearedby formatting it only the directory is removed. After that file recovery programs can be then go in and try to retrive the files. It is the only way that you can recover all your data from the card.
