    Canon Powershot A620 Error E18

    Hi,

I have a Canon Powershot A620 digital camera. When I was trying to focus, it started making a clicking sound and gave me error E18, restart the camera. Restarting the camera was unsuccessful. I took the batteries and still nothing. Has anyone out there experienced an E18 error with the Canon Powershot A620?

The camera can take a couple of shots (clear and in focus), then stops working. Removing and replacing the batteries can produce extra 2.3 shots. A better solution (not provided by Canon) is to connect the camera to a TV or computer. This may solve the problem completely. If not, you can at least allow an extra 10-15 shots. There are several forums on the net that mention that connect the camera to the TV completely solved the E18 error.

To solve error e18, turn off the camera. Place the camera on his back with the lens up and have a look at the distance "between the lens and lens cover. You will probably notice that the difference is not even all the way around. To fix this, simply, very gently press down on the side where the gap is larger. You hear a "click" as it appears in its place. Try to relight it again.

Although the use of E18 error codes seems problem mostly to be the particular domain of Canon cameras, the problem is fairly common in all cameras with telescopic sight barrel. As a result, Canon has removed the use of this source of error in their new cameras. Instead they adopted the more common term "objective error" that other manufacturers use. As such, its latest camera for this term when the problem occurs.

E18 lens errors is the misuse of camera cases, or the execution of the cameras in their pockets. Accidental activation of the camera, while in the case or pocket may cause the aim of expanding the limited objective in its motion, causing the error. Another cause is that the sand, dust and dirt accumulate on the merits, if not cleaned regularly (and lint from the pockets). These materials easily adhere to the chamber for the accumulation of electricity by the friction of the camera against the side of the case, especially for those cases with mild fibrous interior.

A camera lens is out of focus. Some users have been able to manipulate the lens in place (see reference links below). To solve the problem, it is often necessary for the camera and optical assembly is removed, reset, and the objective reassembled. The gets stuck in the extended position, and refuses to move either to focus the lens or to retract when off. Please turn contact the dealer where you purchased the camera or the nearest Canon service.
