Canon Powershot A620 Error E18

Hi,

I have a Canon Powershot A620 digital camera. When I was trying to focus, it started making a clicking sound and gave me error E18, restart the camera. Restarting the camera was unsuccessful. I took the batteries and still nothing. Has anyone out there experienced an E18 error with the Canon Powershot A620?

The camera can take a couple of shots (clear and in focus), then stops working. Removing and replacing the batteries can produce extra 2.3 shots. A better solution (not provided by Canon) is to connect the camera to a TV or computer. This may solve the problem completely. If not, you can at least allow an extra 10-15 shots. There are several forums on the net that mention that connect the camera to the TV completely solved the E18 error.

To solve error e18, turn off the camera. Place the camera on his back with the lens up and have a look at the distance "between the lens and lens cover. You will probably notice that the difference is not even all the way around. To fix this, simply, very gently press down on the side where the gap is larger.
